Bogotá, officially Bogotá, Distrito Capital, abbreviated Bogotá, D.C., and formerly known as Santa Fe de Bogotá during the Spanish Imperial period and between 1991 and 2000, is the capital and largest city of Colombia. The city is administered as the Capital District, as well as the capital of, though not politically part of, the surrounding department of Cundinamarca. Bogotá is a territorial entity of the first order, with the same administrative status as the departments of Colombia. It is the main political, economic, administrative, industrial, cultural, aeronautical, technological, scientific, medical, educational and aiport center of the country and northern South America.

«Colombia no será escondite»: cae en Soacha alias «Comandante 7», peligroso capo ecuatoriano
. El presidente de la República, Abelardo De La Espriella, confirmó la captura en el municipio de Soacha (Cundinamarca) del ciudadano ecuatoriano Guido Fernando Rodríguez Vargas, conocido en el mundo del crimen como alias “Comandante 7”. Este individuo es catalogado como un objetivo de alto valor para las autoridades del país vecino y una pieza fundamental de la organización transnacional “Los Tiguerones”. La detención con fines de extradición se logró tras una operación milimétricamente coordinada entre la Policía Nacional de Colombia y el Centro Nacional de Inteligencia de Ecuador. El prontuario de alias “Comandante 7” De acuerdo con la información revelada por el jefe de Estado, Rodríguez Vargas cumplía un rol determinante en la expansión de esta estructura criminal: Enlace transfronterizo: Actuaba como el principal dinamizador de las operaciones de «Los Tiguerones» en el corredor limítrofe, operando principalmente entre el departamento de Nariño (Colombia) y la provincia de Esmeraldas (Ecuador). Músculo financiero: Era el responsable directo de administrar las rentas ilícitas para garantizar el sostenimiento logístico y la compra de armamento del grupo. Además, lideraba una red dedicada al lavado de activos derivados del narcotráfico y la extorsión. Prófugo internacional: El capturado era requerido mediante una notificación roja de Interpol y pesaba sobre él una orden de captura en Ecuador por los delitos de homicidio y delincuencia organizada. Bogocine: Bogotá se prepara para vivir la magia del cine
vuelve a convertirse en el  escenario del séptimo arte con la llegada del  43 Festival de Cine de Bogotá – BOGOCINE, uno de los encuentros cinematográficos de mayor tradición de Colombia. Desde 1984, este Festival ha construido un espacio para celebrar, descubrir y promover el cine nacional e internacional. Bajo el liderazgo de su director y fundador, Henry Laguado, BOGOCINE, ha mantenido durante más de cuatro décadas una apuesta decidida por los nuevos realizadores, el cine independiente y aquellas historias que muchas veces encuentran en estos espacios la oportunidad de llegar a nuevos públicos. Desde sus primeras ediciones, el Festival nació con el propósito de reconocer la producción colombiana y posteriormente amplió su mirada hacia las cinematografías de América Latina y del mundo. La capital colombiana se prepara para recibir la 43.ª edición del Festival de Cine de Bogotá, que se llevará a cabo del 17 al 23 de septiembre de 2026. La programación reunirá producciones nacionales e internacionales y permitirá al público acercarse a diferentes géneros, miradas y lenguajes cinematográficos. BOGOCINE, se ha caracterizado especialmente por ser una plataforma para nuevos directores y por reconocer sus primeras obras cinematográficas, convirtiendo a Bogotá en un punto de encuentro para realizadores, productores, artistas, estudiantes, amantes del cine y público en general no solo de Colombia sino de muchos paises. Pero BOGOCINE, no es solamente una competencia cinematográfica. Su propósito es destacar lo mejor de la cinematografía mundial, destacar la producción colombiana, estimular la industria audiovisual y contribuir a la difusión de la cultura cinematográfica. Por eso, además de las películas en competencia, el Festival contempla muestras especiales, cine clásico, retrospectivas, documentales, animación, cine para niños y otras propuestas que enriquecen la experiencia de quienes encuentran en la pantalla grande una manera de comprender nuestra sociedad y acercarnos a otras culturas. La importancia del Festival de Cine de Bogotá, va mucho más allá de proyectar películas. Difundir y respaldar el cine significa apoyar una industria que genera empleo, creatividad, conocimiento y oportunidades para cientos de artistas y profesionales colombianos, entre ellos directores, guionistas, actores, productores, fotógrafos, músicos, diseñadores y técnicos. Cada película colombiana, es también una oportunidad para mostrarle al mundo quiénes somos, nuestras regiones, nuestras costumbres, nuestros conflictos, nuestros sueños y la enorme diversidad cultural que caracteriza a nuestro país. Por eso, promover espacios como BOGOCINE, es también defender el arte y la cultura, como herramientas para construir sociedad, preservar nuestra memoria y fortalecer nuestra identidad. Cuando un ciudadano asiste a una función, recomienda una película, comparte la programación o invita a otros a participar, está contribuyendo a que nuestra industria cinematográfica tenga mayor visibilidad y a que las nuevas generaciones encuentren en el arte una posibilidad para crear, expresarse y transformar su realidad. Difundir el Festival es, entonces, una manera de decir que Bogotá cree en la cultura y que Colombia tiene historias que merecen ser vistas, escuchadas y reconocidas dentro y fuera de nuestras fronteras. Uno de los grandes valores de BOGOCINE, es precisamente su capacidad para demostrar que el cine no conoce fronteras. Una película puede contar una historia ocurrida en un pequeño pueblo y, al mismo tiempo, generar emociones y reflexiones en espectadores que viven a miles de kilómetros de distancia. En este sentido, la trayectoria de Henry Laguado como creador del festival, resulta fundamental. Durante más de cuatro décadas ha impulsado un Festival que comenzó mirando especialmente hacia el cine colombiano y que progresivamente se convirtió en una plataforma internacional para nuevos realizadores. Su apuesta por el cine independiente y por las nuevas voces ha permitido que Bogotá sea también una ciudad de encuentro para quienes encuentran en el lenguaje audiovisual una forma de expresar sus inquietudes, sus sueños y las realidades de sus comunidades. Y ese esfuerzo merece ser reconocido. Mantener durante 43 ediciones un festival cinematográfico requiere perseverancia, gestión, pasión y, sobre todo, la convicción de que la cultura es fundamental para el desarrollo de una sociedad. Para los Bogotanos y visitantes que quieran hacer parte de esta fiesta del cine, la recomendación es mantenerse atentos a los canales oficiales de BOGOCINE, donde se dará a conocer la programación, las películas, las muestras y las diferentes actividades previstas para esta edición. El Festival también desarrolla actividades complementarias, como talleres y espacios de formación, que permiten acercarse no solamente a la experiencia de ver cine, sino también a la de aprender a hacerlo y comprender sus diferentes lenguajes. Los realizadores también pueden participar a través de las convocatorias del Festival para presentar sus películas, documentales o animaciones. De esta manera, BOGOCINE continúa siendo una plataforma para que nuevos talentos encuentren un espacio de exhibición, reconocimiento y conexión con públicos nacionales e internacionales. También existen diferentes formas de vincularse al Festival como voluntario, practicante, donante o integrante del Círculo BOGOCINE, ampliando así las posibilidades para que ciudadanos, estudiantes y amantes del cine puedan contribuir a esta iniciativa cultural. Por ello, la invitación es sencilla: consultar la programación oficial, compartirla, asistir a las funciones y llevar a familiares y amigos a vivir esta experiencia. La cultura necesita espectadores, pero también necesita ciudadanos que la promuevan y la defiendan. Por eso, la llegada de la 43.ª edición de BOGOCINE, debe ser entendida no solamente como una agenda cultural más, sino como una oportunidad para que Bogotá, se encuentre consigo misma y con el mundo a través de las imágenes. El Festival de Cine de Bogotá, nos recuerda que la cultura también construye ciudad. Que una sala de cine puede convertirse en un espacio de diálogo. Que una película puede despertar preguntas, derribar prejuicios y acercarnos a realidades que desconocemos. Y en una ciudad que se prepara para proyectarse hacia sus 500 años de historia, resulta fundamental preguntarnos qué ciudad queremos construir y qué lugar ocuparán el arte, la cultura, la creatividad y la memoria en ese futuro. Bogotá necesita grandes obras de infraestructura, movilidad, vivienda, seguridad y tecnología, pero también necesita cultura. Necesita espacios donde sus ciudadanos puedan encontrarse, imaginar, crear y reconocerse. Necesita preservar su memoria y, al mismo tiempo, abrir las puertas a las nuevas generaciones que quieren contar la ciudad desde sus propias perspectivas. Del 17 al 23 de septiembre, Bogotá tienes una cita con el cine. Una cita que durante 43 años ha sido posible gracias a la perseverancia de quienes creen que el séptimo arte puede transformar, educar y unir. Y detrás de esa historia está Henry Laguado, un gestor cultural que ha convertido a BOGOCINE en una ventana para que Bogotá mire al mundo y para que el mundo también mire a Bogotá. Porque una ciudad no solamente se construye con concreto, grandes obras y tecnología. También se construye con cultura, con memoria, con arte y con historias. Y este septiembre, esas historias llegarán a Bogotá a través de la magia del cine.
