General Information

Bogotá, officially Bogotá, Distrito Capital, abbreviated Bogotá, D.C., and formerly known as Santa Fe de Bogotá during the Spanish Imperial period and between 1991 and 2000, is the capital and largest city of Colombia. The city is administered as the Capital District, as well as the capital of, though not politically part of, the surrounding department of Cundinamarca. Bogotá is a territorial entity of the first order, with the same administrative status as the departments of Colombia. It is the main political, economic, administrative, industrial, cultural, aeronautical, technological, scientific, medical, educational and aiport center of the country and northern South America.

vicepresidente electo, José Manuel Restrepo, finalizó su gira en Estados Unidos, una agenda de reuniones en Washington que desarrolló junto a varios ministros designados por el presidente electo, Abelardo de la Espriella. Durante la visita se llevaron a cabo encuentros con altos funcionarios estadounidenses para abordar asuntos relacionados con política internacional, inversión, comercio y cooperación bilateral. Según informó Restrepo, la delegación sostuvo reuniones con el secretario de Estado, Marco Rubio; el secretario del Tesoro, Scott Bessent; el secretario de Comercio, Howard Lutnick; el secretario de Energía, Chris Wright; el representante comercial Jamieson Greer; el director ejecutivo de la DFC, Ben Black; el presidente del EXIM Bank, John Jovanovic, y directivos de la USTDA. El vicepresidente electo aseguró que existe disposición para fortalecer la relación entre ambos países con énfasis en confianza, seguridad, inversión y generación de oportunidades. Alcaldía de Medellín abrió una nueva convocatoria para conformar el banco de talleristas y mediadores que desarrollarán procesos de formación artística y cultural en las Casas de Cultura durante el segundo semestre de 2026. La invitación, liderada por la Red de Casas de Cultura, está dirigida a personas mayores de edad que cuenten con formación o experiencia comprobable en áreas relacionadas con el arte, la cultura o el trabajo comunitario, con el propósito de fortalecer la oferta cultural en los diferentes territorios de la ciudad. Los aspirantes deberán diligenciar el formulario de inscripción y presentar una propuesta con los contenidos que desarrollarían en los procesos de formación. Las postulaciones estarán habilitadas hasta el miércoles 22 de julio a las 5:00 de la tarde. De acuerdo con la alcaldía de Medellín, los resultados de la evaluación y los puntajes obtenidos por los participantes serán publicados el próximo 6 de agosto.
