General Information

Bogotá, officially Bogotá, Distrito Capital, abbreviated Bogotá, D.C., and formerly known as Santa Fe de Bogotá during the Spanish Imperial period and between 1991 and 2000, is the capital and largest city of Colombia. The city is administered as the Capital District, as well as the capital of, though not politically part of, the surrounding department of Cundinamarca. Bogotá is a territorial entity of the first order, with the same administrative status as the departments of Colombia. It is the main political, economic, administrative, industrial, cultural, aeronautical, technological, scientific, medical, educational and aiport center of the country and northern South America.

autoridades migratorias de Estados Unidos concretan este jueves, 16 de julio de 2026, la deportación del activista colombiano Franklin Humberto «Beto» Coral, quien llegará al país en las próximas horas a bordo de un vuelo de la Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana (FAC) junto con otros 92 connacionales expulsados por el gobierno estadounidense. Se prevé que la aeronave despegue desde el aeropuerto de Alexandria, en Estados Unidos, y aterrice en territorio colombiano durante la noche. Debido a la estrecha cercanía de Coral con el Gobierno nacional, ha trascendido que el presidente Gustavo Petro evalúa asistir personalmente a la terminal aérea para recibir al activista, uno de sus defensores más activos en el entorno digital. ¡Cayeron al aterrizar! Capturan a tres colombianos apenas llegaron desde Panamá
ciudadanos colombianos fueron capturados al arribar al aeropuerto internacional José María Córdova, en Rionegro, luego de que las autoridades detectaran que tenían requerimientos judiciales vigentes. El operativo, enmarcado en los controles migratorios adelantados por Migración Colombia, permitió ubicar a los requeridos por la justicia, quienes llegaron en vuelos procedentes de ese país. El procedimiento se desarrolló durante la inspección de un vuelo con personas deportadas y otro vuelo comercial. En el primer caso, las autoridades identificaron a un hombre que ingresó al país en condición de deportado y que era requerido mediante una Circular Azul de Interpol por el delito de tráfico de migrantes. Además, al verificar sus antecedentes, se confirmó que tenía una orden de captura vigente en Cartagena. Se trató de una mujer que tenía una orden de captura emitida por el Juzgado 14 Penal Municipal con Función de Control de Garantías de Medellín por el delito de estafa agravada. Tras confirmar los requerimientos judiciales, los tres capturados fueron puestos a disposición de las autoridades competentes para continuar con los procesos judiciales correspondientes. El alcalde de Medellín, Federico Gutiérrez, destacó el resultado del operativo y aseguró que la ciudad seguirá trabajando junto con Migración Colombia para enfrentar la criminalidad transnacional. “En Medellín no hay refugio para quienes le hacen daño a la gente. Seguimos trabajando de la mano con Migración Colombia y las autoridades para que la justicia actúe”, expresó. Según Migración Colombia, desde agosto de 2022 han sido dejadas a disposición de las autoridades 3.665 personas requeridas por la justicia durante controles migratorios, de las cuales más de 230 fueron detectadas en la Regional Antioquia-Chocó. ¡Golpe a la criminalidad transnacional!
